Die Verhaltenspsychologie erforscht das menschliche (oder auch tierische) Verhalten in seiner Gesamtheit, d.h. sie versucht sich neben der Beschreibung und Erklärung auch an der Voraussage. Dabei wird auf alles zurückgegriffen, was sich beobachten lässt, also z.B. Gestik, Mimik und was und wie gesprochen wird.
Ziel der Verhaltenspsychologie ist es, aus der Beobachtung des Verhaltens eines Menschen Rückschlüsse auf seine psychische Verfassung zu schließen.
