Tiefe Hirnstimulation lindert auch Bipolare Depressionen

Atlanta – Eine tiefe Hirnstimulation kann Depressionen lindern. Die Wirkung scheint nach einer Studie in den Archives of General Psychiatry (2012; doi: 10.1001/archgenpsychiatry.2011.1456) mit der Dauer der Stimulation sogar zuzunehmen. Die Behandlung war auch bei Patienten mit Bipolarer Störung II effektiv und sicher.
