Depressionen und Angst machen vielen Diabetikern zu schaffen

Psychische Krankheiten treten bei Diabetikern häufiger auf als in der Normalbevölkerung. Patienten müssen regelmäßig darauf gescreent werden.

Typ-1- und Typ-2-Diabetes sind zwar primär somatische Erkrankungen, die auf Insulinmangel bzw. Insulinresistenz beruhen. Aber auch psychosoziale Faktoren wie Depressionen und Stress-Situationen sind gerade bei der Entstehung von Typ-2-Diabetes von großer Bedeutung.
