„Chicago – Ist chronischer Rückenschmerz das Ergebnis eines fehlgeleiteten Lern­prozesses im Gehirn? US-Forscher beschreiben in Nature Neuroscience (2012: doi: 10.1038/nn.3153), wie die Chronifi­zierung von Rückenschmerzen mit einem Verlust an grauer Hirnsubstanz einhergeht und durch eine Untersuchung mit der funktionellen Kernspintomographie sogar vorhersehbar sein könnte.“
