Erbgutveränderung: Gestresste Gene
„München (netdoktor.de) - Akuter Stress verändert die Aktivität bestimmter Gene. Zu diesem Ergebnis kamen Forscher des LWL-Universitätsklinikums, als sie die Auswirkungen akuten Stresses auf die Genstruktur untersuchten. Dabei zeigte sich, dass Stress die sogenannten Methylierung der Gene verändert. Bestimmte Methyl (CH3)-Gruppen, die sich an die DNA anheften, wirken wie Schalter im Erbgut: Ihre Positionierung entscheidet darüber, ob ein Gen aktiv ist oder stummgeschaltet wird.“
